Mashing the Adductors

If there's one area that is easy to ignore as far as soft tissue work, it is the groin area. For obvious reasons, it's not the first place we ask our muscle therapist or PT to work on. And there aren't too many super friends at the box willing to go there either. Also, because of its proximity, it can be hard to hit that area with a barbell or lacrosse ball. Enter the kettle bell. Laying on top of the kettle bell handle is a perfect solution as demonstrated by Kelly Starrett in the video below. Move necessary parts out of the way, and let your body weight apply pressure to the adductor tissues. Between soft tissue work and additional stretching, this may be the key to getting you in better positions in your squat, clean and snatch.
